Resources on the subjects of Cisco routers and wireless networking
Mood:  caffeinated

Wireless is also very popular. 802.11 allows computers to use the network to access the network and move around. 802.11 also is used frequently in warehouse management systems (WMS). The idea is that the forklifts can utilize software to tell where product should go without needing to slow down to do it. In this instance the advantage is in having redundant network hardware. If any part of the system dies then the entire thing stops. This many organizations install twice the equipment and wire everything to each device. Hopefully if something fails it doesn't get sick so that the network can realize the failure and operate without the other disabled equipment. The caveat is that a failed device must be replaced before another failure happens despite no issues being visible.

Somebody called Cisco Systems based in California United States that manufactures excellent routing and switching equipment. OK they are the dominant vendor of networking devices in the world. They control most of the networking hardware market world wide. Training with this is thus quite common.

Network Address Translation(NAT) is popular on today's networks. The function is to simply translate one IP address to another address. This is helpful if the nodes all are on a non-public subnet but have to access the internet through gateways that do the NAT .
